Allatoona Weekly Crappie Fishing Report

Folks, this Lake Allatoona Crappie report is purely for historical purposes as there was not one day, other than Tuesday that was fit to venture out of the house! The lake is a mess...literally, it is muddy and littered with pine straw, pinecones, leaves and trash. We got out just to inspect the lake on Tuesday as the weather was nice and the wind was low but the temps were dropping before the cold front came in for the end of the week. We wish that we had a better report but good days are coming the last week of February and we will be ready to get back on the water. During our down time we got the new Kic'n Chic'n XL made up in several colors and have them ready at the shop or online if you want to pick some up! We are really excited about this new larger version of the original Kic'n Chic'n. The original Kic'n Chic'n is a 1.7" paddle tail swimbait crappie jig and the NEW Kic'n Chic'n XL is a 2.3" paddle tail swimbait crappie jig. We have field tested the new Kic'n Chic'n XL for the last month and it trolls great and has caught some slabs! Our theory is that if you want to catch bigger crappie maybe you need to pull a larger crappie jig...not only did it catch larger crappie it also caught small crappie. Don't be afraid of the larger profile as the crappie didn't seem to mind! Great weather is on the way maybe as early as next week! Looking ahead we are seeing temps upwards to 70 degrees by next Wednesday so we plan to be on the water checking things out. Be sure to check the weekly report out in the next few weeks as we get ready to "Rock and Troll" for these spring time spawning crappie. If you don't know what colors to choose check out our Combo Packs, this will save you a lot of time with proven stained and clear water colors. Lord willing we will have another report for you next week. Be sure to check out the archives for February 2024 and see what we were doing this time last year!

Verse of the Week: This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. ~ John 15:12-13.

When we think of Jesus we think of a person from long ago who died on a cross for our sins and in 3 days rose again defeating sin and death forever. These are certainly two extremely important aspects of the Christian faith and are foundational to our belief. Before those things occurred, Jesus lived 30 years BEFORE he began his ministry. He had a mother, an earthly father and earthly brothers and sisters. He had family, friends and relationships. He experienced happiness, sadness, physical pain, hunger, tiredness...etc. In his last 3 1/2 years he made friends with 12 men who would be his disciples, partners in the gospel and would tell his story through the pages of the Bible that we still read to this day. When he told the disciples and the countless others that followed him "Greater love has no one than this, that to lay down his life for his friends", he meant it. He said "you are my friends, my dear friends who I love so much I am going to lay down my life for you." He laid down his earthly life in order to make peace with God through his sacrifice. Jesus is still making friends today, building lasting relationships by transforming lives who had no hope, peace or love into lives that surpass all understanding. He transforms me each and every day and I think we could all use a friend like that. What a Friend We Have in Jesus!
